പുലര്‍ച്ചെ പള്ളിമണിയടിക്കും മുന്‍പ് കുറ്റിച്ചൂലുമായി മുറ്റത്തേക്കിറങ്ങിയ കുഞ്ഞന്നാമ്മ മങ്ങിയ വെളിച്ചത്തില്‍ മുന്നില്‍ നില്‍ക്കുന്ന വെളുത്ത രൂപം കണ്ടു ഞെട്ടി! കര്‍ത്താവേ......വികാരിയച്ചന്‍!!,!!

"അറിയില്ലച്ചോ!! പാതിരാത്രി എപ്പോഴാ വന്നു കേറിയന്ന് ആര്‍ക്കറിയാം?"

വ്യാകുലയായ ആ മാതാവ് സല്‍പുത്രനെ വിളിച്ചെണീപ്പിക്കാനായി തിടുക്കത്തില്‍ അകത്തേക്കോടി. കിടക്കപ്പായില്‍ പടം വിരിച്ച ഉടുമുണ്ട് വാരിച്ചുറ്റി വായിക്കോട്ടയുടെ അകമ്പടിയോടെ ഉണര്‍ന്ന ലോനപ്പന് വാതിക്കല്‍ വര്‍ഗീസച്ചനെ കണ്ട് അമ്പരന്നു!! ദൈവമേ വെളുപ്പാന്‍കാലത്ത് വീണ്ടും പണിയായോ?!! പൊടുന്നനെ മനോബലം വീണ്ടെടുത്ത്, ദീന ഭാവത്തില്‍ ഭയഭക്തി ബഹുമാനത്തോടെ നമ്രശിരസ്കനായി.

നീണ്ട ഏഴു വര്‍ഷത്തെ പയറ്റിനും പ്രാര്‍ഥനക്കും ഒടുവിലാണ് അവറാച്ചന്‍ കുഞ്ഞന്നാമ്മ ദമ്പതികളുടെ കടിഞ്ഞൂല്‍ പുത്രനായി കടിഞ്ഞാണില്ലാത്ത ലോനപ്പന് ഭൂജാതനായത്‌..,. അടുത്ത ഏരിയായിലുള്ള സകല പള്ളികളിലെയും പുണ്യാളന്‍മാര്‍ക്ക് അക്കാലമത്രയും സാറ്റലൈറ്റ് തകരാറുമൂലം ടവറില്‍ കിട്ടാതിരുന്ന കുഞ്ഞന്നാമ്മയുടെ നിലക്കാത്ത നെഞ്ചത്തലയും നെടുവീര്‍പ്പും ഒടുവില്‍ റേഞ്ചില്‍ പിടിച്ചതാകാം ചോദിക്കാതെ തന്നെ 2G യും 3Gയും കണക്ടായി ഒരു നാലെണ്ണം കൂടി ലോനപ്പന് പിന്നാലെയിങ്ങുപോന്നു!! പറഞ്ഞിട്ടെന്തു കാര്യം? അവര്‍ക്കാര്‍ക്കും നാട്ടില്‍ ലോനപ്പനോളം പ്രശസ്തി കൈവരിക്കാന്‍ സാധിച്ചില്ല!!
ഇടവകപ്പള്ളി ഔസേപ്പ്പുണ്യാളന് താന്‍ നേര്‍ന്ന "സ്വര്‍ണ്ണ നൂലാണ്" ലോനപ്പന്റെ ജനനത്തിന് നിദാനം എന്ന് കുഞ്ഞന്നാമ്മ ഉറച്ചു വിശ്വസിച്ചു. "ഉദ്ദേശ്യകാര്യത്തിന് ഉപകാരസ്മരണ" എഗ്രിമെന്റ് പ്രകാരം കുഞ്ഞിന്‍റെ ഹൈറ്റിനു തുല്യമായ "916 സാധനം" (വണ്ണം എത്ര നേര്‍ത്തതായാലും നീളം ഒട്ടും കുറയാന്‍ പാടില്ല.) പുണ്യാളന് കൊടുക്കേണ്ടതാണ്. ജനിച്ചപ്പോള്‍ നാല്‍പ്പത്തഞ്ചു സെന്റിമീറ്ററായിരുന്ന ലോനപ്പന് പിടിവിട്ടു വളരുമെന്നോ സ്വര്‍ണ്ണത്തിന്റെ വില നിലതെറ്റി നില്‍ക്കുമെന്നോ ആ കര്‍ഷക ദമ്പതികള്‍ കരുതിയില്ല. ഒടുവില്‍, സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ കാര്‍ഷിക കടം എഴുതിത്തള്ളിയ വാരത്തിലെ ഒരു ഞാറാഴ്ച, കുര്‍ബാനക്കിടെ പുണ്യാളന് വീഡിയോ കോണ്‍ഫറന്‍സ് വഴി തന്നോട് ഇപ്രകാരം പറഞ്ഞതായി കുഞ്ഞന്നാമ്മക്ക് വെളിപാടുണ്ടായി.!!, "മദര്‍ മേരിയോടായിരുന്നെങ്കില്‍ ഓക്കേ, പുരുഷനായ എനിക്ക് എന്തിനാ ഗോള്‍ഡ്‌? ഡോണ്ട് വറി, ജസ്റ്റ്‌ ഫൊര്‍ഗെറ്റ്‌ ഇറ്റ്‌ "
എങ്കിലും തികഞ്ഞ അഭിമാനിയും മുടിഞ്ഞ ഭക്തയുമായ അവര്‍ പുണ്യാളന് നല്‍കിയ 100% ഡിസ്കൌണ്ടിനു നന്ദിസൂചകമായി ലോനപ്പനെ പള്ളീലച്ചനാക്കിയേക്കാം എന്ന് വാക്കുകൊടുത്തു. അന്നുമുതല്‍ ബാലനായ ലോനനെ ആത്മീയതയിലേക്ക് വഴി തിരിച്ചു വിടാനുള്ള ശ്രമങ്ങളാരംഭിച്ചു. അതിന്‍റെ ഭാഗമായി കുര്‍ബാന, അനുബന്ധ ശുശ്രൂഷകളില്‍ വൈദികന്റെ അസിസ്ടന്റായി വര്‍ത്തിക്കുന്ന "അള്‍ത്താര ബാലസംഘത്തിലേക്ക്" പെടാപ്പാടുപെട്ട് പറഞ്ഞയച്ചു.
ബൈബിളും കുര്‍ബാന പുസ്തകവും നോക്കി കുഞ്ഞു ലോനപ്പന് വായിച്ചവ പലതും മലയാള നിഖണ്ടുവില്‍ കണ്ടെത്താനാവാത്തതും പ്രാര്‍ത്ഥനകള്‍ പോപ്പിനുപോലും പിടികിട്ടാത്തവയുമായിരുന്നു. തന്‍റെ പ്രസംഗവും മെത്രാന്റെ ഇടയലേഖനവും കേട്ട് ഒരു വഴിക്കായ വിശ്വാസികള്‍ക്ക് ഇതുകൂടി താങ്ങാനുള്ള കെല്‍പ്പുണ്ടാവില്ലെന്നും, ഈപോക്കു പോയാല്‍ പള്ളിപ്പരിസത്തുപോലും ആളുകാണില്ലെന്നും തിരിച്ചറിഞ്ഞ വികാരിയച്ചന്‍ കര്‍ത്താവിനെയോര്‍ത്ത് ഈ ഉദ്യമത്തില്‍ നിന്നും പിന്മാറണമെന്ന് കുഞ്ഞന്നാമ്മയോടപേക്ഷിച്ചെങ്കിലും രക്ഷയുണ്ടായില്ല! ഒടുവില്‍ തന്ത്രപൂര്‍വ്വം ധൂപാര്ച്ചനപോലെയുള്ള പൂജാദികര്‍മ്മങ്ങളില്‍ ഹെല്‍പ്പറാക്കി, വായനയില്‍ നിന്നും വിടുതിനല്‍കി, വരാനിരുന്ന വലിയ വിപത്തിന് വികാരി വിലങ്ങിട്ടു .
ടിന്റുമോന്‍ എന്ന തൂലികാനാമത്തില്‍ പില്‍ക്കാലത്ത് പ്രശസ്തനായത് ഈ ലോനപ്പന് തന്നെയാവാം എന്ന സംശയത്തിന് അടിവരയിടുന്ന ചില സംഭവ വികാസങ്ങളാണ് പിന്നീടുണ്ടായത്! അള്‍ത്താരയില്‍ കുന്തിരിക്കം പുകച്ചു ധൂപാര്ച്ചന നടത്തിയ ശേഷം പിന്നാമ്പുറത്തെ സങ്കീര്‍ത്തി മുറിയിലിരുന്ന് കെടാതെ കനലൂതിയ ലോനപ്പന് തീയോടോത്തുള്ള സഹവാസം മൂലം ബീഡി വലിയുടെ അനന്ത സാധ്യതകളെക്കുറിച്ച് ബോധവാനായി. വഴിയില്‍ നിന്നും പെറുക്കി പോക്കറ്റില്‍ സ്റ്റോക്ക് ചെയ്ത മുറിബീഡികള്‍ ക്രമേണ കപ്യാര്‍ അന്തോണിയുടെ ചുരുട്ടിന് വഴിമാറി.
അമ്പു പെരുന്നാള്‍ ദിവസം, പതിപോലെ അള്‍ത്താരക്കും പിന്നെ ആത്മാവിനും പുക കൊടുത്തുകൊണ്ടിരുന്ന ലോനപ്പന്, അപ്രതീക്ഷിതമായി ആരോ സങ്കീര്‍ത്തിയിലേക്ക് കടന്നുവരുന്നത്‌ കണ്ട് ജനലിലൂടെ തട്ടിയ ചുരുട്ട്, നിരത്തി വച്ചിരിന്ന കതിനാക്കുറ്റിയില്‍ പതിച്ചു! അസമയത്ത് പൊട്ടിയ വെടിയൊച്ചയില്‍ മുട്ടിന്മേല് കുമ്പിട്ടിരുന്നൊരു വല്യമ്മ മൂക്കുംകുത്തി നിലത്തു വീണു ഡാമേജായതു പോട്ടെ, കാര്യമറിയാത്ത കരിമരുന്നുകാരന്‍ "തീപ്പൊരി തങ്കപ്പന്" വന്നുഭവിച്ച ധനനഷ്ടവും മാനഹാനിയും അതികഠിനമായിരുന്നു!
എങ്കിലും മകനെ പുരോഹിതനാക്കാനുള്ള കുഞ്ഞന്നാമ്മയുടെ പ്രാര്‍ഥനയും പ്രതീക്ഷകളും അവസാനിച്ചത് അവിടെയല്ല. ഒരു ക്രിസ്മസ് രാത്രി, പാതിരാ കുര്‍ബാനക്ക് പുത്തനുടുപ്പും നിക്കറുമണിഞ്ഞ് സ്വര്‍ഗത്തിലെ മാലാഖമാരുടെ പ്രതിരൂപമാകാന്‍ പള്ളിയിലേക്ക് പുറപ്പെട്ട "അള്‍ത്താരപ്പിശാച്" ലോനപ്പനെ നേരം പരപരാ വെളുത്തിട്ടും ആരും കണ്ടില്ല! ആളുകൂടി തപ്പിയതിനൊടുവില്‍, പുല്‍ക്കൂടിന് പിന്നില്‍, അവശേഷിച്ച കച്ചിക്കെട്ടുകള്‍ക്കും വര്‍ണ്ണക്കടലാസുകള്‍ക്കുമിടയില്‍നിന്നും അബോധാവസ്ഥയില്‍ പുറത്തെടുത്തു! കൂടെ ശൂന്യമായ രണ്ടു വീഞ്ഞു കുപ്പികളും!! ആ ദാരുണ കാഴ്ചകണ്ട വികാരിയച്ചന്റെയും കപ്യാരുടെയും, ക്രിസ്മസ് പുതുവത്സര ആഘോഷങ്ങള്‍ക്കായി പ്രത്യേകം ചാര്‍ജ്ജ് ചെയ്തിരുന്ന ഊര്‍ജ്ജം എങ്ങോ ചോര്‍ന്നുപോയി!! വൈനില്ലാതെ കേക്ക് ഉണ്ടായിട്ടെന്താ?! ലോനപ്പന് തന്റേതല്ലാത്ത കാരണങ്ങളാല്‍ ശിശ്രൂഷാദി കര്മ്മങ്ങളില്‍നിന്നും എന്നെന്നേക്കുമായി പുറത്താക്കപ്പെട്ടു!
ആ സംഭവത്തോടെ പന്ത്രണ്ടാം വയസ്സില്‍ പള്ളിയുടെ പടിയിറങ്ങിയ ലോനപ്പന് പത്തു വര്‍ഷങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് ശേഷം വീണ്ടും അവിടെ കാലുകുത്തുന്നത് വര്‍ഗീസച്ചന്റെ വരവോടെയാണ്. യുവജനങ്ങളെ അടുപ്പിക്കാനായി വോളീബോള്‍ കമ്പക്കാരനായ അച്ഛന് പള്ളിയങ്കണത്തില്‍ കോര്‍ട്ട് വെട്ടിയതോടെ കളിക്കാരും കാണികളും കൂടെ ലോനപ്പനും കൂടി! വാശിയേറിയ മത്സരം കണ്ടു വാട്ടം പിടിച്ചുനിന്ന പലരും പരിസരം മറന്നു പ്രോത്സാഹനം നല്‍കി.
"ചീഫ് വിപ്പ് സ്വന്തമായുള്ള പൂഞ്ഞാറുകാര്‍ക്കൊന്നും ഭരണിപ്പാട്ട് കേള്‍ക്കാന്‍ കൊടുങ്ങല്ലൂര്‍വരെ പോകേണ്ടെങ്കിലും" പള്ളിമുറ്റത്തേക്ക് പെരുന്നാളിനുപോലുമില്ലാത്ത തള്ളിക്കയറ്റമുണ്ടായി!! ഇടിവെട്ടു സ്മാഷുകള്‍ക്കൊപ്പം "എക്കോയായി" ചെവി പൊട്ടുന്ന തെറിയും മുഴങ്ങി!!
"ഇങ്ങോട്ട് നീട്ടി വെക്കടാ....മ#@$%,...!!" ഇന്നാ പിടിച്ചോ ഡാ.......പു.£*#%"
ആദ്യമൊക്കെ കണ്ണടച്ചെങ്കിലും ആവേശത്തില്‍ തന്‍റെ നാവിന്‍റെയും കണ്ട്രോള്‍പോകുന്നതു തിരിച്ചറിഞ്ഞ വര്‍ഗീസച്ചന്‍ വേദനയോടെ കളി മതിയാക്കി. എങ്കിലും വോളീബോള്‍ താരമായ അച്ഛനോടുള്ള ആരാധനയാല്‍ ലോനപ്പന് ആ വഴി പോകുമ്പോഴെല്ലാം പള്ളിമുറ്റത്ത് ഒരു വിസിറ്റിംഗ് പതിവാക്കി.
മീനമാസത്തിലെ വെയിലും വിയര്‍പ്പും തങ്ങാത്തൊരു ഉച്ചത്തിരിവിന്, പാടത്തു കൃഷി നോക്കി തിരികെ വരുന്നപടി, ലോനപ്പന് വെറുതേ പള്ളിക്കോമ്പൌണ്ടിലേക്ക് ഒന്നെത്തിനോക്കി. ഏതു ദുര്‍ബല നിമിഷത്തിലാണ് തനിക്കാ ദുര്‍ബുദ്ധി തോന്നിയതെന്നോര്‍ത്ത് ഒരായുഷ്കാലത്തോളം അയാള്‍ പരിതപിച്ചിരിക്കാം! ഇരയെ കാത്തിരുന്നപോലെ വരിക്കപ്ലാവിന് ചുവട്ടില്‍നിന്ന വര്‍ഗീസച്ചന്‍ ലോനപ്പനെ കണ്ടു സന്തോഷാധിക്യം കൊണ്ട് വിളിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞു.
"ഡാ!!.. രാവിലെ മുതല്‍ ആരെയെങ്കിലും കയ്യില്‍ കിട്ടാന്‍ കാത്തിരിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു, പ്ലാവിലോട്ടു കേറി ആ കാണുന്ന മുഴുത്ത ചക്ക ഇങ്ങിട്ടെര്"
"ഓ അതിനെന്താ അച്ചോ ഇപ്പം ശരിയാക്കിത്തരാം" എന്ന് സഡന്‍ലി റിപ്ലെ കൊടുത്ത് പ്ലാവിനോടടുത്ത ലോനപ്പന് പൊടുന്നനെ ഏതോ ഉള്‍വിളിയാലെന്നപോലെ നിശ്ചലനായി! ചിന്താഭാരത്താല്‍ വലഞ്ഞു തിരിഞ്ഞു നിന്നു!
"ചക്ക പഴുത്തിട്ടില്ലച്ചോ വേണേല്‍ നാളെയിടാം"!!
"അതെങ്ങനാടാ ഇന്നു വിളവാകാത്ത സാധനം നാളെ പഴുക്കുന്നത്? ഇരുപത്തിനാല് മണിക്കൂറും പ്ലാവിന്റെ കീഴെ നില്‍ക്കുന്ന എന്നെക്കാള്‍ നിശ്ചയമാണോടാ നിനക്ക്? പറഞ്ഞത് കേട്ടാല്‍മതി" അച്ഛന് തെല്ല് ദേഷ്യം വന്നു.
ഇങ്ങേര് വെള്ളമിറക്കി പ്ലാവിനു കീഴേ നിന്ന സമയം കുരിശിനു കീഴേ നിന്നിരുന്നേല്‍ തിരുസഭ രക്ഷപെട്ടെനെ....! ലോനപ്പനു ചൊറിഞ്ഞു.
ചെടി നനയ്ക്കല്‍, വാഴ വെപ്പ്, കുല വെട്ട്, തുടങ്ങി പല പണികള്‍ പണ്ടും പുള്ളി ചെയ്യിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കിലും ഇതുപോലൊരു കുരിശ് ആദ്യമാ!! ചെകുത്താനും കടലും പോലെ മുന്നില്‍ പള്ളീലച്ചനും പ്ലാവും!
"തൊട്ടു വിശ്വസിക്കണം" എന്ന പോളിസിയില്‍ അടിയുറച്ച്, ഉടുത്തിരുന്ന കൈലി മുണ്ടിനു പിന്നിലൂടെ ലോലമായി തലോടി ലോനപ്പന് ആ "നഗ്നസത്യം" ഒരിക്കല്‍ക്കൂടി ഉറപ്പുവരുത്തി! ആന്റണി പ്രതിരോധ മന്ത്രിയായിട്ടെന്താ ഇവിടെ തത്രപ്രധാനമായ പല പ്രദേശങ്ങളും സെക്യൂരിറ്റി പ്രൊട്ടക്ഷനില്ലാതെ കിടക്കുകയാണ്!!
"ഡാ സമയം കളയാനില്ല. വേഗം വേണം! എനിക്ക് വൈകിട്ട് മെത്രാനച്ചനെ കാണാന്‍ പോകേണ്ടതാ,കൊള്ളാമെങ്കില്‍ പുള്ളിക്കും നല്ല നാല് ചുള കൊണ്ടുപോകണം"
ആഹാ, അച്ഛന് രണ്ടുംകല്പിച്ചാ!! പ്ലാവില്‍ കേറാതെ വീട്ടില്‍പോക്കുണ്ടാകുന്ന ലക്ഷണമില്ല. പറ്റില്ലാന്നു പറഞ്ഞാല്‍ പള്ളിയോടും പട്ടക്കാരോടും അനാദരവ്, ധിക്കരിക്കല്‍!!
ഒടുക്കത്തെ ആലോചനക്കു ശേഷം, അപകടകരമല്ലാത്തൊരു ഡിസ്ടന്‍സ്‌ ഹരിച്ചും ഗുണിച്ചും നോക്കി "ആംഗിള്‍ ഓഫ് വിഷന്‍ കാല്‍കുലേറ്റ്" ചെയ്ത്, ലോനപ്പന് പറഞ്ഞു.
"അച്ഛന് പ്ലാവിനു കീഴേന്ന് ഇരുപതടി മാറി നിന്നോ, ചക്ക ഞാന്‍ വെട്ടിയിട്ടെക്കാം"!
പ്ലാവിന്റെ രണ്ടാമത്തെ കവരത്തില്‍ ചവിട്ടി മേല്‍പ്പോട്ട്‌ കയറുമ്പോള്‍ ആക്രാന്തം മൂത്ത വര്‍ഗീസച്ചന്‍ ചുവട്ടിലേക്ക് ആജ്ഞകളുമായി നടന്നടുക്കുന്നതുകണ്ട ലോനപ്പന് മറ്റൊന്നും ആലോചിച്ചില്ല! തോട്ടിലേക്ക് ചാഞ്ഞു കിടന്ന കൊമ്പില്‍ തൂങ്ങി ചവിട്ടിനിന്ന ഇളം ചില്ലയോടൊപ്പം വെള്ളത്തിലേക്ക് ഒരു ഡൈവിംഗ്!!!
"ചക്ക വെട്ടിയിട്ടതുപോലെ" ലോനപ്പന് പോരുന്നത് ലൈവായി കണ്ട വര്‍ഗീസച്ചന്‍ അല്‍പനേരം ഇടിവെട്ടേറ്റപോലെ നിന്നുപോയി!!. തലക്ക് "റിലേ" തിരികെ കിട്ടിയപ്പോള്‍ തോട്ടുവക്കിലേക്ക് ഓടി! ചക്ക പ്ലാവില്‍ തന്നെയുണ്ടെങ്കിലും വെള്ളത്തില്‍ വീണ സാധനത്തെ കാണാനില്ല!!
ഫയര്‍ ഫോര്സിനെയോ ആംബുലന്സിനെയോ വിളിക്കണോ? അതോ പള്ളിമണിയടിക്കണോ എന്നറിയാതെ "ലോനപ്പാ...! ലോനപ്പാ....!! എന്ന് ഗദ്ഗദപ്പെട്ടുനിന്ന വര്‍ഗീസച്ചനോട് അതുവഴി പോയൊരു വള്ളക്കാരന്‍ പറഞ്ഞു.
"ആളു തോട് നീന്തിക്കയറി പോയിട്ടുണ്ട്. ചോദിച്ചിട്ടൊന്നും മിണ്ടിയില്ല"!
തട്ടിപ്പോയിട്ടില്ലെന്നു കേട്ട്നല്ലശ്വാസം വീണ കത്തനാര്, മേത്രാനച്ചനെ കാണാനുള്ള അപ്പോയിന്‍മെന്റിനെപ്പറ്റി പെട്ടന്നോര്‍ത്ത് അടുത്ത ബോട്ടിന് അതിരൂപതയിലേക്ക് വലിച്ചുവിട്ടു.

"ഇന്നലെ ഉയരത്തില്‍ നിന്നപ്പോള്‍ എന്തോ കണ്ടു പേടി കിട്ടിയതാവാം!!. ഇത്തരം ബാധകള്‍ എന്റെ പ്രാര്‍ത്ഥനകൊണ്ട് നിഷ്പ്രയാസം മാറാവുന്നതേയുള്ളൂ"
മുട്ടിന്മേല് നില്‍ക്കുന്ന ലോനപ്പന്റെ തലയില്‍ കൈവെച്ച് വര്‍ഗീസച്ചന്‍ തുടര്‍ന്നു.
കാര്യങ്ങളെപ്പറ്റിയൊന്നും കാര്യമായി ഗ്രാഹ്യമില്ലെങ്കിലും മകന്റെ വിടുതിക്കായി കുഞ്ഞന്നാമ്മ നെഞ്ചത്തലച്ചു കരഞ്ഞു! അടുത്ത നേര്‍ച്ചയായി എന്ത് നേരണം എന്നോര്‍ത്ത് കണ്ഫ്യൂഷനായി. ഏതായാലും വീണ്ടുമൊരു "സ്വര്‍ണ്ണ നൂല്" മുതലാവില്ല!!.
